Eva's Friends Over the past few years, there has been a great deal of division in our country about what sorts of statues should be found in the public sphere. This author has always believed that destruction or removal of historical statues does not resolve anything and only serves to sanitize things that ought to be remembered and never forgotten. To my mind, the best way forward is not to remove unpleasant things that make us uncomfortable but to challenge ourselves by honoring those who have had an enormous positive impact. I can think of no better example of this than Eva KOR for her tireless work related to Holocaust education. Eva has received widespread support and honors for all she has done. Eva's association has educated thousands of people about the horrors of the Holocaust and the damage caused by hate. However, what makes Eva in my opinion truly great is that despite all the things that have happened to her she was able to forgive her abusers. I do not
